What is the GGF?

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is a trade association that represents companies who install over 60% (by turnover) of all glazing work. It works to raise standards within the glass and glazing industry while providing approved GGF Members with the support and knowledge they need to secure business.

Homeowners who employ a GGF Member to carry out work at their property can be safe in the knowledge that they are investing in the very best the industry has to offer.

What protection do I receive from the GGF?

When a Domestic Consumer purchases their new windows and doors from a GGF Member they know that they are being provided with immediate Deposit Protection through the GGF Fund.

They also will know that additional support is available to them as they can take advantage of our FREE conciliation service in the unlikely event that they are left dissatisfied by the level of work completed by a GGF Member. This aims to resolve any disputes that arise out of such matters in a satisfactory manner.

Housing associations, councils and commercial organisations are also protected by our Consultancy and Expert Witness Service.

How do I find a GGF Member in my area?

All those looking for a GGF Member to make, supply or fit a glass-related product should choose their product of choice and enter the postcode of the relevant location into our Find a GGF Member search box.

How long has the GGF been going?

The Federation was formed in January 1977 by the amalgamation of a number of glass-related Trade Associations. Some of these had been in existence since the mid-18th century.

Are all Members credible businesses?

Most definitely. In order to become a GGF Member, companies have to prove to us that the products and services they provide are of the utmost quality. Companies must have been trading for at least three years and be prepared to comply with our Code of Good Practice.

We also visit their premises to ensure that all aspects of their business and accounts are in good order. Even when membership is attained, we continually monitor their performance.

Where do I download documents that may be helpful to me?

Our Homeowners Guides page is full of downloadable PDFs designed to provide Members and consumers with the very best technical advice.

Is the GGF a national company?

The GGF is a regional, national and international company. More than half of the installations performed in the UK are carried out by GGF Members and we are widely recognised as being the world’s leading authority within the glass and glazing industry.
